"L’accordéoniste" by L’accordéoniste (Classical Artist from Ontario, Canada)

"L'Accordéoniste" is the self-titled album from the highly talented ensemble L'Accordéoniste. This album is a collection of riveting and interesting cabaret-inspired music from around the world and consequently the songs are sung in English, Italian, German as well as French. "The Sailor's Tango" is a moving piece about a sailor's life, with poignant drums and operatic vocals. "Chitarrata abruzzese" is a number in which flittering vocals, which at times reach great heights, are sung over enchanting accordion playing. "There's nothing quite like money" is a humorous number which one could easily imagine being sung onstage at a rowdy cabaret. This album is perfect for those who enjoy cabaret music, but if you are unfamiliar with that then think of this album as multi-language musical collection of quasi-operatic, antiquated songs. If this type of tantalizing and international music sounds intriguing to you then you must acquaint yourself with the self-titled album from L'Accordéoniste.

"From Bach Till Dawn" by Dominik Baumgartner (Classical Artist from Switzerland)

Dominik Baumgartner's latest release album is "From Bach Till Dawn." In this album Baumgartner has created an exceptionally choice collection of Baroque era classical music that is created through a virtual orchestra enhanced by sophisticated computer generated software. The song, "Hänsel und Gretel – A Fairy Tale Opera: Act II - "Introduction: The Witches' Ride," is well orchestrated as the woodwinds and flittering brass section perform with a dynamic intensity. For the "Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major, BWV 1048: III. Presto" we find ourselves confronted with an intensely swirling interplay between the strings as a brilliant counterpoint precision runs with powerful and exquisite tonality. The sound textures within the song, "Choral: The Old Forest," is replete with stirring choir like voices and violins that are dark, brooding, and emotive which gives this song a haunting sense of mystery. This album is one in which Baumgartner has embraced the musical world using the aid of a computer and this is no easy feat to accomplish as each song is well produced and well balanced with high quality sound textures. This album is perfect for those who already enjoy Bach, as it is a refreshing new look at Baroque music but isn't a break away from what makes the music so powerfully special to begin with.

Elisabeth Waldo's exquisite CD, "Land of Golden Dreams," is a diverse collection of world cultures beautifully embellished with instrumental sound textures. Waldo, a talented composer and violinist, has taken her explorations of world cultures and deftly created a relaxed and well orchestrated production of contemporary classical music. Feel the calm ocean waves gently roll onto the shore as the birds call from high above "On a Mystic Island." Listen as the popping firecrackers light up the music on the processional song "Mr. Chinatown L.A." while march-like drums keep a bold and strong rhythm. Bright and crisp horns of "Vaqueros at the Roundup" decorate the vibrant and captivating melody while the castanets capture energetic beats.
